VM & Win Subsystem for Linux

I first installed Win Subsys for Linux (a while ago) and then the VM. Now, it seems like the Win settings to make the VM work basically don’t allow me to run the Subsys anymore – is that correct? (Not a problem because the VM works well so far, more out of curiousity/trying to understand how things are related)

You don’t need both, just the the VM.

Yes, there are some Hyper-V settings that may need to be different to run WSL vs VMWare, although the latest versions of VMWare on Windows claim to have solved this.
