The final polish

Here’s a before-and-after example of a conference paper. The ‘before’ version was already the right length and had been checked for factual correctness. In fact, it was good enough to be accepted, but we still managed to improve it with a final careful editing pass.

Try placing the papers side-by-side to make a parallel text, then figure out what we did and why it reads better after the editing.
