Speech Recorder Installation

Hello~

I was trying to install the Speech Recorder Software downloaded online from this CSTR website. However, for some reason, I failed to install it on my Macbook. I took a screenshot of the error message and attached it here. Is there another link to download the software? Because I also noticed that the two versions available online seem to be designed for MacOS 10 not the most recent versions, I am unsure if that may cause an issue.

Why are you trying to install this software on your own computer?

Hi,

I thought we need to have this software on our own computer to record in the studio. Because I read in the instruction that, “If you’re recording on a Mac, then you can use CSTR’s SpeechRecorder software that presents each prompt to the voice talent, and saves the recordings in individual files. Here’s the manual. To load your own sentences into this tool, they need to be in Festival’s standard ‘utts.data’ format.

If you don’t have a Mac, then try this Python alternative to SpeechRecorder created by previous student Tim Loderhose, and now updated and maintained by Dan Wells.” so I thought this means I need to record on my Macbook in the studio.

It’s already installed on the studio computer, as you’ll learn during your training session this week. (You can’t use your personal computer in the studio.)
