› Forums › Speech Synthesis › Unit selection › Setting the target weights using maximum likelihood
Hi
In Taylor’s text book (16.3), he mentioned that we could use Maximum Likelihood technique to set target weights. Could you explain more about the process and how is it different from the linear regression training method discussed in Hunt and Black paper?
Thank you!
I’ll touch on this in the lecture, but this is the point where we will depart from unit selection (with an ASF target cost) and move on to statistical parametric synthesis in a couple of weeks from now.
