I’m finding it hard to understand why “Token_POS” exists as well as “Token” and “POS” in the unit selection process in Festival. At the “Token” stage, Festival adds “Word” to the available relations, but are there different analyses going on at these different stages?
Token_POS
is where Festival stores additional disambiguation information needed for certain homographs where POS alone is not sufficient (e.g., “read”).
