I have a really quite debilitating issue as it means I can’t get tests done

I have silenced output in my scripts but every command I execute in a script is for some reason beign printed to my prompt. eg.

always the same thing but i have no clue how to turn it off or why it is happening

The set -x command in the shell scripts causes all commands to be printed (with a leading “+”) just before being executed. It’s useful for debugging, because you can see the full command line with all variable values.

Simply comment it out.
