I am not really sure of how the natural frequency of a given object is defined. Is it possible to calculate it just by knowing the shape of the object, even we have the appropriate parameters?
Can you give some examples of objects that you have in mind?
Yes, any simple object, let it be a glass or a tuning fork. In order to resonate they need a natural frequency, but is it possible to determine it before for example creating this said object? If yes how? Or is the only way to determine it to test the different frequencies?
I’ll bring a tuning fork to main lecture 2, and we’ll find out…
