What does the POS tag ‘jj’ signify in festival?
It’s been attributed to the homograph ‘subject’. At first I thought it signified homographs that change pronunciation when they’re in different syntactic categories, but other homographs like ‘wind’ have the noun or Verb POS tag depending on its context, but ‘subject’ always has ‘jj’.
Adjective. See https://www.ling.upenn.edu/courses/Fall_2003/ling001/penn_treebank_pos.html
Note: Festival’s POS tagger makes many mistakes.
