I have successfully downloaded the VNC Viewer. However, I’m having difficulty accessing the lab machines from there.
If I paste the machine address into the new connection line, it constantly says it has “Timed out waiting for a response from the computer”.
If I try and log into Edinburgh first, it provides the following message:
“Please provide your organization’s OIDC identifier –
contact your system administrator for more information”
But I’m not sure how to obtain the OIDC identifier.
Is there anything I can do to fix this, or find the OIDC identifier?
Apologies if I have missed this somewhere, but any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Tom,
I can connect to that machine from my end. Can you check whether you have the university VPN on (if you are outside the campus eduroam network)? If this happens on other machines as well,it would be best to contact IS Helpline to see if there’s anything the sys admins can see on their end:

For VNC Viewer, you shouldn’t need an account with RealVNC (just the EASE login and password to access the machine).
cheers,
Catherine
