› Forums › General questions › SpeechRecorder clone (works on Windows/Linux)
Hi everyone,
I just wasted some time thinking I may want to still record my extra material and wrote a SpeechRecorder clone in Python.
If anyone was wondering how to efficiently record on their own machines using their own equipment, this lets you do it:
https://github.com/timlod/speechrecorder
It’s not as full-featured as SpeechRecorder, as I just spend some hours on it, but it has (what I consider) the main functionality of SpeechRecorder.
Read the readme if you want to use it, and note that it currently overwrites takes, so you won’t be able to choose the best take. I think there’s no time to do that anyways, so just go on once you’re happy with how you spoke.
I only tested it on my own machines, if you encounter any issues feel free to file them on Github and if it’s done in a minute I’ll fix it.
