I was wondering: when the note we hear when blowing on a bottle is it’s natural frequency (or one of the harmonics), why does moving my lips (changing tenseness or angle of airflow) influence the pitch? Am I changing the bottle’s resonant frequency?
I don’t have a nice physical explanation of this phenomenon, I’m afraid. You are clearly including the resonant frequency(ies) of the bottle in some way.
