This is an ASR lab and is the start of the second assignment. You are going to build a very simple Automatic Speech Recognition system, starting right at the beginning with collecting/wrangling some data. You will then perform various experiments with it, and write up a lab report.

The instructions are here on speech.zone. Start by reading them all the way through.

Simon will give an overview/instructions to the class at the beginning of the lab session, so try to be there on time.

In the lab, you should try to run through the scripts used in the assignment, even if you don’t understand them all.
The hardest part of the assignment for most students is learning enough shell scripting to automate the experiments.
