Simon King is Professor of Speech Processing, and Director of the Centre for Speech Technology Research (CSTR), but most importantly here, he is the course organiser for Speech Processing.
He is responsible for every aspect of the course, including the content and how it is delivered, and this website. If anything goes wrong, it’s his fault!
How to contact Simon
You’ll generally get the fastest and most detailed response by posting on the forums. Simon monitors them frequently. As well as the forums for course content, you might also use the Speech Processing – course delivery › Using speech.zone forum to report any problems with the website, ask for tips on how to use it, etc.
But, if there is something that you really don’t want to ask on the forum, or you are having a technical problem with this website, then you can email him. If your question is of general interest, he may post a version of it on the forum as the Anonymous Student and reply to you there.
What parts of the course Simon teaches
Simon created the videos for the SIGNALS, TTS and ASR parts of the course. He also designed the two items of assessments based on practical assignments. He will lead some tutorial groups each week, rotating around groups so that you will all meet him eventually.
